Long Live the Banana Faerie

Funny the things that happen at work. Tuesday we had costumes and treats all over the building. We also have drawings regularly for tickets for the Stars and the Mavs. Coming up, we have a Sally Family Skate night. Go figure. The corporate good will stuff is fun, but the banana faerie beats all that.

Turn back the clock a couple years ago in Tyler. I got home from work and found that stuff had been done at the house. Chris and Kristi were both going to school at UTT and my house was closed than theirs for crashing during short breaks at school, and I had a washer and dryer, free! When I tried to thank Kristi for cleaning the kitchen one time, she told me that the house faerie had done it. Over the years, the house faerie visited often. Sometimes, needed touches were added, a curtain here, and new pitcher there. The faerie even got her (its?) own budget.

Fast forward now to Denton. Needless to say, I have not seen much of the house faerie here in my space. At least a month or two ago, I came in to find a banana on my desk. "Oh, look, the banana faerie came and left me a banana!" After the laughter died down, I had to tell the story of the house faerie. Well, the banana faerie has embraced his moniker. He continues to bring and deposit bananas on a regular basis. One day when I happened to turn around and catch him in the act, he put his hands just above waist-high and waved his "wings." I laughed as loud as I dare in a cubicle farm.

The other day, though, he struck outside the cubicle as witnessed by the photographic evidence. Long live the Banana Faerie

We need one of those faeries at my work place. Maybe not bananas, but some one doing random acts of niceness. The mood at our place is very dark and dank. Maybe I should dust off my faerie wings.
I do believe in faeries, I do believe in faeries, ...
