New adventures

I chased a rabbit yesterday and ended up taking a French test today. I have heard about the French Alliance of North Texas for years, while living in Tyler. Yesterday morning, I heard their "commercial" on KERA and decided to look them up. They are just down the road in Addison. I dropped them a note. Later in the morning I got a call. "Bonjour." "Bonjour," and on we went for a few minutes. I drove down to the school this morning and took a placement test. Jean-Paul put me in the advanced class. Cool. My conversation and reading are passable, but my written French has fallen by the wayside. So many of the tenses sound the same but are written differently. I guess that is my main goal for the class, refreshing my written French. I suppose that means I will need to have two blogs soon.

Just finished Wicked, a fun read.

Oh and did I say that change and I are not the best of friends. While I was on my pre-birthday visit to the Big Sky Country, Annie mentioned something about her students doing bead-work while they listened to other things. They beaded all sorts of things, cellphone cases,..... After breaking a number of plastic belt clips for my first cell phone, given to me by my then boss years ago, I finally chose my back pocket as the best place for that little bit of interruption to hide. The thought of a unique, beaded case, made just for me does have that certain attraction.

First I went to Target and found the best case for my phone and my tastes (and my wallet). I found a few I liked better, but this one had the most clean surface for beading. Then I wore if for a few days. No sense having a new bit of decor for my belt if I would not wear it anyway. Today I tossed it in the mail to Annie, so she can return it weeks hence newly decorated with a traditional Cheyenne design. Why go to all this trouble and have something that could have come from anywhere. I will post a picture when I have it back.

I think I've read Wicked, but the story didn't stick with me for long, but I really liked a different book by that author. I think it was The Ugly Stepsister, or somethning similar. Anyway it was the Cinderella story from the point of view of the ugly Stepsisters.

PS I'll be waiting for the cell phone case.
