My Lovely Midi

Chris, it works! I finally made an appointment with a voice coach. I have been complaining for a year or two about not being comfortable with my voice. I am fine at church, but in the choir (as a tenor now) I still get lost on occasion. I worked with Gwynne in Beauty and the Beast. She sang well and has the degrees to teach (and she has cats -- I will take drugs next session). I scootered up there on Saturday for my first session. We worked for about an hour and picked out a couple songs to work on. I will bring my Broadway book next time, she had lots of jazz I did not know. She did give me a couple classical songs to work on. With my piano skills that will be hard work. Chris suggested I look on line for the songs.

Bingo! I found the first one right away. I down loaded the MIDI file. Rats, a brass arrangement and in the wrong key. Garageband to the rescue! I dragged the file into Garageband and was able to change the starting note for the piece and replace the horns with keyboards. I can even tweak the tempo without impacting the pitch. The other one was easy to find as well. Now I can practice without worrying about my terrible keyboard skills.
