How much is a used PC worth.

Here in Denton, we live north of University Drive on what starts out as a one-way street. By the time Locust gets to our part of town, it is a two way though. The sister street (going back into town) has a place I have driven by too many times without taking advantage of the services. We had an old computer and monitor in the garage taking up valuable space. That and an old printer, old fax, and an old phone. We thought we might have to pay to have them disposed, but Superior said that they bought computer scrap.

Today was the day. Suzanne and I had busy mornings and caught up with each other about noon. She needed to finish an errand that took us down Elm. "Hey, let's see how late they are open!" "Ok!" "3:00 on Saturdays." Once we got back home, I loaded up the car while Suzanne loaded up lunch. Well - it turned out to be dinner, but that's another story.

The monitor was $1.00. The printer, fax and phone were called ABS and brought $.72. The computer, which probably cost $1200 to $1500 back in the day brought the highest at $.14/pound $4.48 total. I am glad I am not worth my weight in computer scrap. At least I don't think I am.

Come to find out, I did some quick web-searching. Someone calculated the value of the elements in the human body at $4.50. This number has been spread all over the Net, so I am not sure of the date and the inflation adjustments, but I am now certain that I am worth more than a used PC. The PC started out at $1200 and I cost $89.50 to get out of the hospital. I may not be worth much more than computer scrap, but at least I have depreciated less. :)

That's a nice service, knowing there is a place to take old computers, etc. rather than have them fill up scrap yards.

And as family, I'd say you're worth much more than $4.50!!!
