The other day at dusk, I walked past the office and down Brinker. I found a good 40 minute walk with a hill or two and even footing. Just south of the office, I saw a big pile of snake in the middle of the sidewalk. I did not want to bother it, so I walked way around, both times. Yes, it was still there on the nice warm sidewalk when I walked back. A few days later, it was long before dusk when I again took the same path. Mr. Snake was still there as were any number of ants and other small scavengers. My guess is that in the uncertain light of the previous trip, I could not tell that Mr. Snake had already meet his fate in the road and been tossed to the sidewalk by a passing something. Funny how a little light on the subject makes things more clear and more safe.

So tonight, I was catching up on some email and listening to Sigur Rós. I really don't listen to lyrics much at all. To me the voice is another wonderful instrument. I love Sigur Rós and have been listening to them for years, since one of the boys introduced me. Well, tonight for the first time, I really realized that they do not sing in English. Why should they? They are not. Well now I don't have to worry about not listening for their lyrics. From the web:
sigur rós hail from iceland, and rightly claim to bring you the beautiful landscape of their homeland with their music.

I feel the same way about listening to Native American Dance music. I never understand the words, and much of the time there are no words, just vocalizing. I can't tell the difference between the words and the vocalizing it all sounds the same to me. I find myself just relaxing and feeling the music.
