Go Geoff!

I guess Geoff's comment on my last post means that I get to share his news. At the SFA Chamber Orchestra Concert coming up in the 15th of November, Geoff will be the concert master! Yeah Geoff! We are all very proud of you! See you at the concert!

Way to go!

Just remember to keep alive the fun in playing! I've seen to many older musicians who have lost their sense of joy and discovery!

Serious question here: What's a concert master? Growing up in a very non-musical family, I have no idea what this is. It sounds good.
That means he sits in the first chair violin seat (as the best of the violins). He also oversees the tune-up process.

Geoff, wow. First chair. I know what that means. Congratulations. David you should be very proud. The closest I ever got to music was a recorder. LOL. I don't think that qualifies.

So, how did the concert go?

Or, is it in the future?

the concert that i am concert master for is in early November. we are touring Houston high schools to recruit. the concert is Beethoven's 5th and Chopin's 2nd piano concerto. this weekends concert went very well. all the pieces were American composers, including Copeland, Gershwin, Rouse, and Torke. I recently competed in a concerto competition and have been chosen of two sting players to compete in the finals. Things are going well
