These are not Potato Latkes

I am not sure how many months ago I first saw the recipe for Curried Noodle Patties, I know it was months ago. (Okay, I looked at my saved copy - it was January 24 just before 23h00). Problem was I needed some kind of ring like that pictured here. I looked at Krogers for a biscuit cutter or an egg-poaching ring. I tried Target too. Mind you, I scoured the kitchen stuff at Target. "Don't they think people who shop at Target make biscuits or eat poached eggs? I'll bet Wal-Mart plans for biscuits eaters. But, then, I never go to Wal-Mart unless it is a life and death matter based on how they treat their employees." I think I tried World Market and I know I tried Macy's. Four months later, it finally clicked, Bed, Bath, and Beyond! I put egg rings on my list this morning and headed out. Bed, Bath & Beyond, then Krogers for milk and other groceries, and finally Target for a bill cap to protect my balding pate during lunch when I read outside for some helio-therapy for my arms.

I asked Brian for help after I looked in all the expected places at B,B & B. He was no help. The thanked him and kept looking. I was just heading across the aisle, when he returned to direct me across the aisle. There they were, egg rings. My search was over!

Chris and I were planning to see a location production of As You Like It. A friend from Tartuffe is in the show; she also did the costumes. Vanessa is the red head if you check out their site. The show was billed as a dinner theater, but I wanted my dinner, not theirs. Hence the perfect occasion to try out my newly purchased egg rings. Yes, I did have to go back to Krogers and get some fresh cilantro and some extra firm, organic tofu. (Actually, the tofu just happening to be organic. I can take it either way.) I followed the recipe. for the most part. I used rice noodles instead of wheat noodles. I added a 1/2 teaspoon of chili paste, but the rest was according to Heidi. They were fun to make. I would use more curry paste next time (at least the brand I buy). I might use a whole teaspooon of chili paste, but not much more. After four months, I know I will not wait another four to make these again.
