I have had a wonderful week or so. Suzanne and I got the tip off that the performance for Alice in Wonderland might be sold out. Our names were thankfully first of the waiting list. I have seen a lot of theatre in my time, but I have never experienced an evening like that! When I say puppet show, I don't know what comes to your mind, but it would be wrong. Chris may know of a link to some pictures. The master puppeteer who created the show drew from several ancient puppet traditions, hand-held (as opposed to hand-up-the-inside) puppets, shadow puppets, people as puppets (the caterpillar was three people working together - amazing), puppets as stand-in's (Alice big and small - Alice small was a puppet handled by the actor Alice along with the rest of the three person team). Alice big and small were in matching costumes. According to Chris, they will be doing a reprise later in the season. Come see it! It will be worth the price of the flight.
Thursday of this week, Chris and I went down to see Geoff in the B5 concert. You will need to have a Facebook ID to see the video clip. Suzanne was dealing with a major sinus infection and so was unable to join us. She sent cookies though. Mr. Moon has a rotating principal idea, this concert was Geoff's rotation to the concertmaster slot. Not only that, but they had a recruiting trip to Houston early in the week. Geoff had a great time learning all the responsibilities that go with the concertmaster slot. I enjoyed that concert. They did the best I have heard from the Chamber Orchestra yet! I know some of that we due to all Geoff's hard work. Go Geoff!
[Edit] By the way, the concert was late starting because the place was already sold out and there was still a line half way down the hall. I remember telling Chris that they did not open the house until about ten minutes before the start time. What ever time it was when we went in, the place was almost full. Had we waited another five, we would have been in the standing room,
