When summer hit, we switched to the morning dog park group. We know many of the dog’s names and almost none of the people’s. The regulars all know about my surgery last week. Today, the husky lady asked about how I was and sent her good wishes. Gotta love dog people. 🐕🦺
We have been sitting in Winona’s living room for worship for so long, we have lost connection with many at church. Yesterday, as Suzanne cut my toenails for me, I was thankful that I will get to cut my own sooner than later. For so many, though, there is no going back to relative freedom of mobility. Some lessons I wish I had not learned. I hope I keep that is mind as I get better and back to where I was five years ago.
I am thankful for each breath. Not quite nine years ago I dodged death’s door when I went to my doctor instead of work that Tuesday morning in December. Life is full of opportunities for grace and courage.
