A Litany of Healing

On Tuesday last week, I went to a Service of Prayers for Healing. Jim had died the day before. The past couple of August 8th's have been rough days anyway. The service was simple and meaningful. Here is one of the prayers from the service. May you be blessed too.

A Litany of Healing
God, thank you for your healing love and the gift of life.
Lord, hear our prayer.
We pray for healing in this world: for all peoples and ourselves.
Lord, hear our prayer.
We pray that we may embark on a journey toward wholeness.
Lord, hear our prayer.
We pray that we may find the courage to embrace what is most feared, to refuse to allow ourselves to be wounded.
Lord, hear our prayer.
We pray that you will help us reach out to something that gives new life and new hope.
Lord, hear our prayer.
We pray that our hearts will be healed and opened to what has been closed: relationships, lost opportunities, channels of love, caring.
Lord, hear our prayer.
We pray that you will help us express ourselves fully in service.
Lord, hear our prayer.
We pray especially that we will fell your love for us.
Lord, hear our prayer.
Help us become the people we are meant to be.
Lord, hear our prayer.
All: May the Lord uphold us and fill us with His grace, that we may know the healing power of His love. Amen.

All:
God, giver of life, help us return to life when we suffer.
God, giver of hearts, help us feel again after we have been numb.
God, giver of souls, help us soar once more.
God, giver of courage, help us be strong once more.
God, giver of hope, help us dream once more.
God, giver of this moment, help us experience it with sacred glory.
