Yes, those are stuffed Santa's crawling over my shoulder. I have found that Sally is a fun place to work. All week this week, we have been having various Christmas-themed events. Monday was Hat, Hair, or Headband Day, pictures to follow. I won 1000 Casino bucks in the drawing to use at the Holiday party in January. Tuesday, I was caught singing Christmas carols by one of the secret judges. Wednesday, my candy sculpture did not even get an honorable mention. Today we were serenaded at lunch by a holiday quartet. Tomorrow is sweater/sweatshirt day. I could not find a Christmas either-one at the mall tonight after rehearsal. I had found the reindeer pin and was one the way out. I saw a clerk from one of the stores where I had struck out. We talked as we both walked back to that end of the mall. She convinced me that she might have some bells back with the seasonal goodies. Stuffed Santas! They had a garland of stuffed Santas, and I had a package of safety pins! As Kevin used to say to get my goat, Viola! I now have my very own Christmas sweatshirt.
It has not been all fun and games. The left-over sale we had a few weeks back raised over $6000 for some local charities, and I have no idea how many families and children we helped out by the various angel-tree style programs we supported at the department level. Our work group had to wait while they contacted one of the agencies to get more children's names.
