Tonight I learned something about moving things around. When all the (Texas) kids were here at Christmas, they encouraged me to go ahead and move things around. I had thought about it, but not done anything. The computer was stuck to the wall by the cable modem. So I used the excuse of the boys being here with their laptops to buy a wireless router. That it place, I could move anything anywhere.
Chris suggested moving the couch (futon) in front of the fireplace to make a seating area. Then he placed the computer on the other wall the make an office. That was great, but it pointed out the need for another (comfortable) chair in the corner by the windows. I have been on the prowl for a chair for a week or so. I have placed my seat tester in many chairs in many stores. On Monday, I was doing some shopping at Target and saw one of the leading options at $80 off! Leather, comfortable, small enough to fit, and on sale! Problem was Denton was sold out. I got the rain check that told me in so many words that they probably would not restock the item anyway, but you can pretend that this rain check is worth something. The helpful warning also listened the next three stores that had one at the time of printing. I drove to Flower Mound and placed my new chair (minus the box that would not fit) in my little car and drove home, thanking Dad for his contribution to my (after) Christmas Chair. I will now think of him when I sit in my (after) Christmas Chair.
Moving things around in life can make room for new memories of important people.
