What a day! I took off at noon on Thursday and drove and drove and drove. I finally got home just before 1:00 Friday morning. In between, Geoff and I got to hang out for a while, have our traditional Union Cafe dinner, and a concert. I really like the Cole Hall rather than the other place they used in the Fall. The space is so much nicer and better lit. I hope to have some video from the concert up on the Net later. Video takes for ever to load.
The concert was a nice mix of old and new. They did a piece called Pursued, by one of the professors. I enjoyed the piece. I heard him talking with other patrons after the concert. The recording they made Thursday was the first full length recording. He said that he now has something to give to the publishers. He won some composition prize in Russia. The related performance was abbreviated due to time constraints.
