The Flying Counter Cat

Suzanne's house is a bit of a menagerie. The fish died off the other day, but there was a tankful. Once the water balances out from cleaning and refilling, I suspect new fish will replenish the tank. The two dogs are both rescue dogs, one from the street. Emma, the street rescue, is mostly Dalmatian. She has the coloring. Pattie is a black something. Leah had rescued her from being dumped on campus one day. Since Leah rescued two that day and had one already, Suzanne helped lighten the load.

Now the cats follow the pattern. Suzanne only planned to get one that day, but the place was apparently too scary so she took the two, Katy and Leo. After a while "Katy" became "Katy-boy." When Gracie entered the mix, I am not sure, but she does not want to deal the dogs and the boys (the other cats) bully her, mostly Leo. All this to say that Gracie lives mostly in the kitchen -- on top of the fridge and across the tops of the cupboards. I was amazed one day to see the counter cat on the non-fridge side of the one-butt kitchen. She jumps. Now I did not have the tools to edit the clip when I was ready to upload, so you can slide to 0:42 to see the jump if you want, but she is a master jumper. She usually jumps without coaching, but I wanted to get the jump recorded.

Yes, I know I have been allergic to cats in the past, but these seem to be O.K. as long I don't get too sure of myself. I take drugs some days when I am around them and some days I don't. Life is too short to be stopped by little things like allergies.
