Geoff got to connect with a local band last night. Here are a few clips.
This is a great story of connections. Back when I did Tartuffe, I worked with Polly. Later she invited me to a show for her band. This was back when Suzanne and I were on the border of hanging out and dating. We both knew we were dating but did not admit it yet. They play fun music that is family friendly. One show they had a fiddle player and the next they didn't. When I knew that Geoff was going to be in town and the band had a show, I emailed Polly and she got back with a yes! One of the players in the band is Link.
Suzanne and I planned to see MPHTBB at the Blues and Jazz fest this year. Suzanne mentioned this to a guy she worked with during a sub-gig at the school across the street. "I play in that band," was Link's reply and sure enough he does along with some other bands and his own collections of "used tennis shoes he picked up along the way." He never mentioned the name of the band Friday night, so I guess is must be Link and his Used Tennis Shoes. Why not? Keillor has the Guy's All Star Show Band. But I digress (as usual). At the MPHTBB gig, Link asked Geoff if he wanted to play with them on Friday night. We all had a great time. Thanks, Link!
