A few weeks ago, I saw a link to a race sponsored by Nike, the Human Race. I have been walking with my ipod since some time in April. Some weeks are better than others, but a 10k was not even on my horizon. My longest walk to date had been just over of 6k, but my normal walk was closer to 4.5k. Since I signed up, I have been walking about four 5k's a week -- during a good week.
This morning was the race. I was on the way before 7:00 and by 8:00 I hit 6.88K. Now I walked the whole way, so I was on the trail over an hour longer than the 27:51 top run so far. My 10k joins others around the world for over 4,803,753 kilometers so far. People have a few more days to upload, so I may slip from number 21346. Of course now that I have done 6.2 miles in one walk, I will have to start pushing that up a little each month with a monthly 10k. If you look at my run, you can see where I stopped to tell Suzanne that yes, I was still walking and that I was fine.

I've started walking @ 20 minutes twice a day. I have noticed some improvement. Of course, with this what ever it is, I haven't been getting out for the past week.
