Day 3

So I did not get around to writing anything yesterday. I did get home by 4:00.  I cannot say enough about the great care I go from Colton & Trace, Virginia & Britney, and Sophie & Cassy.  Colleen, Whitney and Janie provided the PT input to allow me to leave yesterday.  When Dr. Catino's PA Cami talked to me first thing in the morning, she said if the PT's signed off, I could leave by the end of the day. Whitney walked with me down one hall and then another. "I do not need to see you again, you are doing fine." She is the one that also got me out of the gown and back into real clothes!

Nurse Sophie yesterday was great. Let's get that IV out, you don't need that any more. When we were on the way out, she told me "No, you have not had any pain meds today, at all. Yes, we send you with a hydrocodone  prescription, but just take one at a time and only if Tylenol does not do the trick.

The best laugh for the day was Janie, the occupational therapist. She me order a tool kit to allow me to pick up stuff, put on pants and socks.  The sponge on a stick will help me wash my legs since I cannot bend lower than my knees.  When she showed me how to do my socks, she was embarrassed when I commented on her cool butterfly tat.  It was her best friend tat, so I assume her best friend has the same butterfly, but is it on the same foot or the other to mirror?  Now since I cannot twist my back for a long while, she did insist on another tool. I told her I had a bidet, but that would not be enough. 😁

Today really is day 3.  Chill time. I took Tylenol with my morning pills as a precaution.  I will not take more until bed time unless I need it.  I sat in the recliner for a while, but on my side in the bed was so much better. Pain today is mostly a non-issue unless I am sitting down in the recliner. Once I get positioned I am okay.

I still have my walker and my grabber tool somewhere. And my gait belt.
